Jean Taylor attacked her home

According to Bristol Post:  Jean Taylor, who needs a walking stick to get around, was at home in the Green Street area of Totterdown one afternoon when the doorbell rang.

She answered the door and a man started a conversation with her, which lasted several minutes. As she went back inside, the man followed her in and assaulted her, leaving her with cuts and bruises to her head.

The criminal then stole cash and left the house. Civilian investigator Paul Hopes said: “This was a vicious and prolonged assault on an elderly lady in her own home. “The incident has left her traumatised and she is undergoing treatment for the injuries to her head.

“I would appeal to people to look at the description we have issued and think about whether they saw or heard anything suspicious in the Green Street area around the time of the incident.

“If you think you know who may be responsible, please do the right thing and call us as soon as possible.”

The crime happened at about 2pm on Tuesday, January 28. The culprit was white, in his late thirties or early forties, of medium build. He was possibly wearing a green or grey hooded top, a baseball cap, faded blue jeans and dark shoes.

Anyone who can help solve this crime should call police on 101, quoting the reference 9565/1
