Real Truth Why Nigerian Celebrities Are Turning To Politicians- MONEY + FAME!!!

celeb turn politicians

I don’t speak for popularity, I speak my mind and my mind is the voice of truth and always play out accordingly. Now listen to egosentrik below:

For the past few years, Nigerian actors and actresses have turned to politics for extra money and fame.

Example; Nkiru Sylvanus (Imo State Govt), Okey Bakassi (Imo State Govt), Bob Manuel Udokwu (Anambra state Govt), RMD(Delta State Govt) and many more.

Recently, Desmond Elliot (actor), Kate Henshaw(actress),9ice(musician), Tony Tetuila(musician) and many more have declared their interests in Nigerian politics come 2015 Elections.

I ask myself, what do these Fame and money seekers want? and yes all they want is more FAME and more MONEY!!!!! Unfortunately, Nigerian voters think with their heads upside down. What political experience and qualifications do these people have to Lead us???? Why not focus on pushing Nollywood and Nigerian music out there to global recognition? Very soon Don Jazzy will join politics and that will really put me off because he needs to validate Nigerian music to the world and he is doing so well at the moment, going into politics, he will loose my respect.

Gani Fawehinmi

Read the Faweyinmi’s  rejection letter below till the end and you’ll understand that there are still sane Nigerians like me:

February 27, 2014

Chief Anyim Pius Anyim,
Secretary to the Federal Government of Nigeria,

Dear Sir,

We acknowledge the receipt of your letter, dated February 24, 2014, which was routed through Mr Tony Akiotu, Group Managing Director, DAAR Communications, Abuja, wherein our late father, Chief Gani Fawehinmi(SAN) was chosen as one of the awardees of the Centenary celebrations of Nigeria by President Goodluck Jonathan.

We want to thank the Federal Government for considering our late father for this HONOUR.

However, for reasons stated here under, our family has decided it would be inexpedient to accept the award:

1. In the list of the awardees published by the Federal Government, was the name of former military dictator, General Ibrahim Babangida, who as military president, severally detained and tortured our late father. In the course of one of such illegal and inhuman detentions, our late father’s cell was sprayed with toxic substances while in Gashua prison in 1987. The cumulative effect of that dastardly action led to our father, a non- smoker, contracting lung cancer which eventually led to his death on September 5, 2009. We therefore, find it morally incongruous and psychologically debilitating for our family to stand on the same podium with General Babangida to receive awards.

APC Says Sanusi’s Removal Is Illegal

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has said Thursday’s suspension of Malam Sanusi Lamido Sanusi as Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) by President Goodluck Jonathan is patently illegal, poorly thought-out and in bad taste, noting that it will definitely have negative consequences for the nation’s economy. In a statement issued in Lagos on Thursday by its Interim National Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, the party also said the action is the clearest indication yet that President Jonathan, whose body language does not abhor corruption, is willing to silence any whistle-blower, no matter his or her status. President Jonathan Never Accused Former Service Chiefs Of “Unnecessary Competition”

President-Goodluck Jonathan

President-Goodluck Jonathan

Here is what Reuben Abati Special Adviser to the President has to say:

Reports in the media yesterday which claimed that President Jonathan said during his visit to Yola on Tuesday that he “fired” former service chiefs because of “unhealthy competition” amongst them are untrue and misleading.

It appears that for reasons of mischief and reckless sensationalism, a section of the media deliberately chose to misrepresent the President’s innocuous and clear call for greater synergy and inter-service cooperation in the war against terrorism.
