There was no urgency to win the match by the Nigerian players. Nigerian supporters on ground seem so disappointed with the Super Eagles and started booing them till the end of the game. You can see one of the supporters in the picture very angry!!!

President Jonathan conferred Coach Stephen Keshi with the honour of Commander of the order of Niger (CON) while the assistant coaches and captain of the team, Joseph Yobo were conferred with Officer of the Order of Niger (OON). Other members of the team were conferred with Members of the Order of Niger, (MON).

The President also announced cash donations from other Prominent Nigerians including $1million from Mike Adenuga (Jnr) to the players and $200,000 to Stephen Keshi while Africa’s richest man, Aliko Dangote donated five million naira to each of the players.

Other cash donations announced by President Jonathan include $500,000 each from Emeka Ofor, Jim Ovia and Tony Elumelu. Source

A source revealed to  Sports Vanguard that all the money relating to the flight arrangements had been concluded after Sports Vanguard got information in Abuja that the football house had already booked for the team’s return flight to Nigeria soon after the match.

I am glad the super eagles team put NFF to shame by wining 2-1 against the Ivory Coast most feared team, just like UK metro weather is always being put to shame most times they’ve predicted white Christmas for us…lol
